Conferences Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage students to participate and present projects at professional conferences during their medical career.

The scholarship consists of financial aid to cover part, or all, of your participation in the event. The amount of aid awarded will depend on the needs demonstrated by the student up to a maximum of $1,000 per conference. The Foundation may award five (5) or more scholarships annually until the available funds are exhausted, reaching $5,000 by the year 2024.

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • Been a medicine student at one of the four (4) medicine schools in Puerto Rico.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a professor linked to the project.
  • Submit evidence of the expenses associated with your participation in the event.
  • Submit acceptance of your project in the conference.
  • Submit an essay explaining how your participation in the event helps you in your training as a doctor.

HOW TO APPLY?

The application is made electronically and applications will be accepted until the available funds are exhausted.

SCHOLARSHIP EVALUATION

  • Only complete applications will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee. That includes those that have sent all the information as detailed in “Requirements to apply.”
  • The Scholarship Committee of Fundación Intellectus will evaluate the merits of the applications and make recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Institution for your ratification.
  • The Foundation will notify the acceptance or denial of the scholarship within a period of 30 days from the date the application is received.
