Health Research

The objective of this scholarship is to stimulate research on health prevention issues in Puerto Rico.

The scholarship provides financial aid to cover part, or all, of the research carried out by the student. The total annual budget for this grant is $50,000 and the amount of aid awarded to each project will depend on the needs outlined in the application.

Requirements to apply

  • Be a university student of any level in one of the following fields: nutrition, mental health, public health, or biomedical sciences.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.50.
  • Submit a recommendation letter from a professor linked to the research.
  • Present the budget of the research and indicate other grants that will support your project.
  • Submit the most recent copy of the academic transcript.
  • Submit an essay explaining how your research can benefit the health of the people in Puerto Rico.

How to apply?

The request is made electronically and the opening is between September 15 and October 15 of each year.

Scholarship evaluation

  • Only complete applications will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee. That includes those that have sent all the information as detailed in “Requirements to apply”.
  • The Scholarship Committee of Fundación Intellectus will evaluate the applications and make recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Institution for your ratification.
  • Fundación Intellectus will notify applicants of the acceptance or denial of the scholarship on or before November 30, 2024.
