About Us

Since 2014 the Foundation Intellectus has maintained a solid compromise with the academic development of medical, health and science students with the main objective of promoting health careers and research in Puerto Rico. Through our student scholarship program and sponsorships, we have contributed to 57 projects, including: health and sexual violence research, public health programs, and student scholarships.

Our History

2014

Ponce Health Sciences Education Foundation d/b/a Fundación Intellectus was born to promote the individual development and organizations commitment to health.

2015

Our first 3 scholarships are awarded to pay for the medical career of three students who are currently doing their specialty residencies in prestigious institutions.

2017

The number of scholarships for medicine students in Puerto Rico was increased to 10.

2018

The Foundation opened its offices in Ponce. In addition to offering scholarships for medical students, it began to sponsor research in the health area, collaborated with organizations that promoted the study of science at a pre-academic level and sponsored a cancer prevention program among University Students.

2021

To this date, a total of 92 initiatives have received our donations.  We continue collaborating with other organizations that support health and we have opened new scholarship programs to continue stimulating the study of health science, the research and the commitment with the community.

Promote the development of individuals and organizations committed to science and research on the physical and mental health of Puerto Ricans.

To be the leading entity that promotes knowledge and prevention as transforming elements of health in Puerto Rico.

Our Footprint

The projects sponsored by the Foundation have helped 5,500 people in initiatives related to education in the area of science, health prevention and emergencies caused by disasters, among others.
