Since 2014 the Foundation Intellectus has maintained a solid compromise with the academic development of medical, health and science students with the main objective of promoting health careers and research in Puerto Rico. Through our student scholarship program and sponsorships, we have contributed to 57 projects, including: health and sexual violence research, public health programs, and student scholarships.
Ponce Health Sciences Education Foundation d/b/a Fundación Intellectus was born to promote the individual development and organizations commitment to health.
Our first 3 scholarships are awarded to pay for the medical career of three students who are currently doing their specialty residencies in prestigious institutions.
The number of scholarships for medicine students in Puerto Rico was increased to 10.
The Foundation opened its offices in Ponce. In addition to offering scholarships for medical students, it began to sponsor research in the health area, collaborated with organizations that promoted the study of science at a pre-academic level and sponsored a cancer prevention program among University Students.
To this date, a total of 92 initiatives have received our donations. We continue collaborating with other organizations that support health and we have opened new scholarship programs to continue stimulating the study of health science, the research and the commitment with the community.
