The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial aid during one year to medical students enrolled in the San Juan Bautista, UPR Recinto de Ciencias Médicas and Universidad Central del Caribe medical schools. One student from each of the three schools will be selected to receive a $10,000 tuition scholarship.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Being a new admission student
Being a resident, or born in, Puerto Rico and have at least one Puerto Rican parent.
Maintain a minimum academic average of 3.80.
For newly admitted students, submit MCAT evidence (minimum 500).
For newly admitted students, submit evidence of the successful admission to your school of medicine.
Submit most recent credit transcript.
Submit letter of recommendation of any professor.
Submit Curriculum Vitae.
Interview by the Intellectus Foundation Scholarship Committee.
HOW TO APPLY?
Applications are sent electronically via our online application form. The application period begins on March 1st and closes on April 30th of each year. Paper applications will not be accepted, nor applications sent in after the deadline.
EVALUATION
Only complete applications will be considered by the Scholarship Committee. This means only those that have sent in all the information as detailed in “Requirements to apply”.
The Foundation’s Scholarship Committee will interview the candidates, evaluate their merits and make recommendations to the Board of Directors of the organization for final approval.
The Foundation will notify the acceptance or denial of the applications to applicants on or before July 30th of each year.
