Publications Scholarship

The objective of this scholarship is to encourage students to publish scientific research articles during their medical studies.

The scholarship consists of financial aid to cover part, or all, of the expenses associated with the publication of the article. The amount of aid awarded will depend on the needs demonstrated by the student up to a maximum limit of $2,500 per article. The Foundation may award four (4) or more scholarships annually until the available funds are exhausted, reaching $10,000 for the year 2024.

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • Been a medicine student at one of the four (4) medicine schools in Puerto Rico.
  • Submit evidence of the expenses associated with the publication.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a professor linked to the research that recommends your publication.
  • The publication must have been accepted in a prestigious academic journal in your field of study.
  • Submit an essay explaining how the publication of the article contributes scientific knowledge and adds value to your medical career.

HOW TO APPLY?

The application is made electronically and applications will be accepted until the available funds are exhausted.

SCHOLARSHIP EVALUATION

  • Only complete applications will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee. That includes those that have sent all the information as detailed in “Requirements to apply.”
  • The Scholarship Committee of Fundación Intellectus will evaluate the merits of the applications and make recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Institution for your ratification.
  • Fundación Intellectus will notify applicants of the acceptance or denial of the scholarship within a period of 30 days from the date the application is received.
