The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial aid to talented Puerto Rican students who are coursing their first year of dental medicine at Ponce Health Sciences University.

Each year, one scholarship of $23,000 is awarded for tuition payment. It is divided into two equal payments among the two semesters of the academic year.

Requirements to apply

Must be a new admission student.
Must be a resident or born in Puerto Rico and that at least one of your parents is Puerto Rican.
Maintain a minimum academic average of 3.80.
Maintain a minimum SGPA average of 3.80.
Submit DAT evidence (minimum 470).
Submit evidence of the successful admission at Ponce Health Sciences University.
Be interviewed by the Intellectus Foundation Scholarship Committee.
Demonstrate financial need with SAI numeration of your FAFSA.
Submit the most recent credit transcript.
Submit Curriculum Vitae.
Submit Recommendation Letter.

How to apply?

The application is submitted electronically and the period to apply is March 1st until April 30th of each year. Paper applications or applications submitted after the deadline have passed will not be accepted.

Scholarship evaluation

Only complete applications will be considered by the Scholarship Committee. This means only those that have sent in all the information as detailed in “Requirements to apply”.
The Foundation’s Scholarship Committee will interview the candidates, evaluate their merits and make recommendations to the Board of Directors of the organization for final approval.
The Foundation will notify the acceptance or denial of the applications to applicants on or before July 30th of each year.
