About Us

Since 2014, the Fundación Intellectus has maintained a solid commitment with the academic development of medical, health, and science students.

Through our contributions we have awarded scholarships and donations to more than 1K students, besides the contribution of 54 projects in the area of health and education.

Our History

2014

Ponce Health Sciences Education Foundation d/b/a Fundación Intellectus was born to promote individual development and organizations' commitment to health.

2014
2015

Our first 3 scholarships were awarded to pay for the medical career of three students currently doing their specialty residencies in prestigious institutions.

2017

The number of scholarships for medicine students in Puerto Rico was increased to 10.

2018

The Foundation opened its offices in Ponce. In addition to offering scholarships for medical students, it began to sponsor research in the health area, collaborated with organizations that promoted the study of science at a pre-academic level and sponsored a cancer prevention program among University Students.

2024

We celebrated our 10th anniversary at Hacienda Aldeana, Cidra, PR, and by the end of this year, 26 organizations and more than 1.6K students had received support from the Intellectus Foundation.

2025

The new MD-Puerto Rico scholarship has been added to our scholarship program to cover partial tuition costs for students at various medical schools in Puerto Rico, including the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine, the Universidad Central del Caribe, and the Medical Sciences Campus. Additionally, we included a dental scholarship for medical students at Ponce Health Sciences University.

Promote the development of individuals and organizations committed to education and research on the physical and mental health of Puerto Ricans.

To be the leading entity that promotes knowledge and prevention as transforming elements of health in Puerto Rico.

Our Impact

The projects sponsored by the Foundation have helped over 9,000 people in initiatives related to education in the area of science, health prevention and emergencies caused by disasters, among others.
